Coole Lodge is the last remaining gate-lodge of the Coole Estate which was home to Lady Augusta Gregory, one of the key figures in the Irish literary revival movement.
Over two hundred and thirty years old, the gate-lodge dates back to the late 1700s when Robert Gregory purchased Coole Estate on 18th June, 1768 from Oliver Martyn of Tullira Castle.

A huge thank you to Henry and his family for allowing people to stay in this wonderfully restored cottage.
We all (six of us) loved our stay.
Everything was wonderful. The rooms are cosy and the grounds are lovely.
We were greeted on time, shown all around the house and how to use things.
The food wine and chocolate was a great surprise, and very appreciated. Thanks again, I’m sure we will be back!

I think my great-grandmother would be delighted the gate lodge has been restored. Thank you Robbie and Henry – we have all had a wonderful time here for the 2018 Lady Gregory – Yeats Autumn Gathering.
